Chrysididae

  Cuckoo Wasps. Lays eggs in the nests of other wasps. Can roll themselves into a ball and are heavily sclerotized to protect themselves against the stings of the wasps they are parasitizing. Members of the subfamily Chrysidinae are metallic green or blue.
