Agonoscelis rutila - Horehound Bug
  Pentatominae, Pentatomidae

Agonoscelis rutila is the single Australian species in the genera. It is usually found on horehound, where it overwinters. The eggs act as parasitoid reservoir for parasitoids of the pest species Nezara viridula. The bugs pictured are on basil, also in the family Lamiaceae. Although occurring in large numbers they do not appear to damage the plant.
